Where is the barometer ?
#1
Based on this page https://www.pine64.org/pinephone/ the pinephone does have a barometer sensor but I do not see any mention elsewhere about it.
If it doesn't have a barometer I think that page should be updated otherwise it can be viewed as false advertisement.

Does someone know something about it ?

Cheers !

Most PinePhones, due to lack of software usable as a phone, have been catapulted to space and turned around the moon where air pressure was so low that the barometer crashed.
Following standard practice pine64.org then decided that these shall be delivered as usual...

I'm not sure what do you mean by "these shall be delivered as usual..." ?

Is this a false advertisement ?

I feel entitled to a better explanation from someone the maker ?

Pine64 makes hardware, software is left up to the community and other projects.

I'm not sure you understand what a barometer sensor is ?

As advertised I assume it's a hardware sensor !

Yes I assume that as well, I thought you were talking about how to use it in software.

looking at the schematics (http://files.pine64.org/doc/PinePhone/Pi...ematic.pdf)
I only see those sensors:
MPU6050 (accelerometer)
BMI120 (accel + gyroscope)
STK3311-A (proximity sensor)
LIS3MDL (magnetic sensor)
AK09911/AF8133J (compass)

no pressure sensor

correction, about BMI120:

Quote:Capable of handling external sensor data (e.g. geomagnetic or barometric pressure sensors by Bosch Sensortec)

https://datasheet.lcsc.com/szlcsc/191211...437657.pdf

but it seems the BMI120 sensor is not connected

So it seems that indeed it's a false advertisement and in my opinion the specification should be updated eliminating it or if it exists somehow be documented for it's usage.

Yes I assume that as well, I thought you were talking about how to use it in software.
And of course if it exists it should be documented how to access/use it, otherwise the specification should be updated !

It seems that the specifications page has been updated and the "barometer" has been removed from it, thank you for fixing that !
