Help broke my pcie connector on the mother board. - roncromberge - 02-01-2020

Hello,

I broke the hinge of the pcie nvme connector on the motherboard!

Now i'm seaching for a replacement part.

On the wiki the connector is referenced as U7001 and in the schematics as U7001 / BL102-G35-1FR

Is there someone on the forum who can tell me the (digi-key) partnumber is? Any partnumber of a suplier is ok.

Hi Ron,

I'll try and track down what component this is tomorrow. I couldn't find anything on this part number online, so I will take a look tomorrow with my microscope.
In the meantime, tape should hold it down pretty well. Blu-tack might also work well.

I'll let you know if/when I find the part.

I couldn't find anything online either. Which is another reason why we need a BOM.

And should by easy auto generated with the schematic / pcb design software :-)

True, but even if that weren't the case, Pine would still need one to order parts.

I do feel that it would be in the spirit of the PBP to release the BOM, so people can do self-repairs more easily.

I haven't yet gotten to it. If I can't find the part number I'll try to measure the connector on all sides with a calliper so we can find a compatible connector.

So, no part number on the board, but I did get all the dimensions.

I searched on Digi-Key, but could not find a bottom-pin connector that was compatible. There was only a top-pin connector that seemed viable, and though I suppose you could bend the ribbon cable inwards to make it work like that, it's not a better solution to your problem. I've also checked Mouser and Farnell - nothing. 

If you wish to look yourself, check for 35 pin 0.25mm FPC connectors with contacts on bottom. If you manage to find one, lemme know!
