Pinebook Pro (ANSI) availability notification? - MechanicalPirate - 01-20-2020

Hello all,

I came across the Pinebook Pro and realized it is what I've been waiting for in a laptop.

Is there somewhere I can sign up to be notified when the ANSI edition becomes in-stock?

If not, I don't mind checking periodically.

Thanks,
MP

I emailed pine sales yesterday asking if a mailing list or something similar existed for the next round of pinebook pro preorders. I'll let you know if/when I hear back.

I also asked system76 if they were considering an ARM machine any more seriously--would be nice to have more competition in the space.

Sounds good, thanks.

It would be cool to see something from System76.

System76 said that "ARM based laptops are not on our roadmap yet. This could change in the future, but I'm not sure when that would occur."

Which is understandable--it's definitely a niche market at this point.

it would make more sense for sustem76 to do a low power intel cpu. n5000 + 8GB ddr4 ram + 256gb nvme ssd = winning.

someone could even make an upgrade module for the pbp, or pine could sell the pbp without a compute module for diy. possibilities!
