What would the cost increment be to allow some level of extensibility? - realrichardsharpe@gmail.com - 01-19-2020

One of the advantages of the LibRem 5 is that it has two M.2 slots, so the phone hardware and the WiFi hardware can be upgraded, or one can possibly swap the WiFi card with an M.2 NVMe card or other interesting cards, like WiFi 6.

What would the cost increment be for the PinePhone to include an M.2 slot?

That Said : I myself would like to see some upgrades made possible on some of their products, but I am glad they do offer us what they do.

"Maybe" in the future they or a copy-cat company may offer upgrades or options.

We have to realize that even this is a venture or gamble, . . . . As big as they are Conical failed at this same venture in the past..!

It is not only price. It is about SW and size as well. Have you realized difference in thickness of the phones?
Considering there is already one with modular feature...
The only viable option is to have options (imho).
Which is considering certification price not an option as for now.
And the last but not the least - there are extension pins out there under back cover Smile
All above are just my own bold ideas.
