RE: Trackpad firmware update - jcj52436999 - 12-17-2019

Do the MrFixIt scripts now cover this trackpad prom update, or do we December deliveries still need to do this upgrade please?

If you're getting a PBP in December 2019 then the trackpad update is already flashed to the keyboard SPI.

My darling PBP won't restart after the first reboot. I followed the instructions to the letter. Green LED is on, screen is blank (no backlight). *sigh* I'm clueless on this.

I suggest you join the #Pinebook chat and get support there - it will be easier to walk you through troubleshooting 'live'

Tremendously helpful (and not at all judgy) folks were a BIG help in getting my PBP back in working order. And that, in a nutshell, is why i bought a Pinebook Pro.
Thanks!

Do the Mr Fixit software 'updates' install the keyboard and touch pad firmware updates  ?

Nope, he doesn't bundle the update software because 1) its not that easy to 'auto-install' the keyboard firmware and 2) users with PBPs starting Dec 2019-onwards will not need the new keyboard firmware as it will be flashed at factory (and its not ideal to have people re-flash a SPI chip for no reason).

RE: Trackpad firmware update - bcnaz - 12-20-2019

Thanks !

There is 'A'  SPI chip on the keyboard  ?
(Not 'THE'  SPI chip on the motherboard ?)

I got a new usb keyboard to do the keyboard/track pad firmware installation,  (as discussed a while back)
BUT,  I have been putting it off, hoping for a simpler method to show up.

Thanks Again

When will those ANSI replacement keyboards become available ?
I am assuming those will also have the latest firmware when they DO become available.... (?)
