Please, how do I make this image?

I tried putting it on SD card (32GB) with Etcher and Rufus, but it boots only into original Debian Mate from EMMC and mounts the 2 partitions from SD card (boot and linux or something like that)

Have you run the update script in Debian?

I don't know that (I'm a noob)..

I remember I did run before on Debian
    apt-get update

    apt-get dist-upgrade

In the default Debian install, there is a notifier icon in the bottom panel that runs a script for updating the system. I think it appears as a small circle with 2 orbiting arrows.

I don't see it, I only see something similar in the top left corner near "applications" menu, but it only shows the "application" options...

The sound on my PBP Debian Mate is not working, I did search last week for that option to update the system but just didn't see it anywhere.

(EDIT I'm logged in as root(

I'm not sure if it's visible while logged in as root. It might be worth a try to check logged in as your normal user.

WOW, everything is different as a normal user, I only tried root cuz that was the first thing that came to mind when I gotten it...

Tx, guys, now can I try Ubuntu build from the memory card?

Glad you got it figured out! Yes, you should be able to boot from SD now
