Can't get android to boot past initial startup screen - jswizle9386 - 04-05-2016

Hi, I received my board yesterday, and today was able to make my SD card. I tried with both Remix OS and Android, but I cannot get past their respective boot screens. I get the imagine saying "Pine64 powered by android" on my screen, yet it just stays there. I do not have any peripherals plugged in, and supposedly my SD card is not counterfeit. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

For me it took about 7mins to boot up. Let it boot for a little longer, maybe the class of the SD card you used was lower than class 10, so it takes a bit longer to initialize?!

I have the same issue (Android boot doesn't advance past the splash screen either 20160112 or 20160216) on my 2GB board with only the HDMI and 2.4amp 5VDC power supply plugged in. I'm sure my SD card is class 10 and, being a firmware engineer, am pretty technically advanced.

I installed and use the reset switch which is supposed to be a more positive reset than power application. I was able to boot the Longsleep Arch Linux Image (which has a known 2GB/Ethernet problem), though it does crash frequently when booting up.

I'd appreciate a heads up if someone is aware of an Android/2GB/RevB problem and will probably put the Pine64 aside until the new Linux image with functional Ethernet is brought up.

Huh

My bad. I reran the PhoenixCard flash of the 20160216 image and after starting it got distracted for about 15 minutes. I returned and discovered that I had previously not given PhoenixCard enough to complete thus flashing an incomplete image to my SD card. PhoenixCard does report "Burn Success" multiple times but, Doh!

I have the same problem.

I have this problem as well. Have tried multiple times. Debian/MATE image is functioning, so I would think the SD card itself is good.

unplug everything but the power cord. no ethernet, no usb devices and try then...
give it some time...

I downloaded the image again and rewrote the sd card. Finally got it to work. 4th times the charm?

Hi everyone, I had same problem with Android. After it stayed on "white pine 64 logo" for about an 45min to an hour. I turned it off and back on by the power button it booted up in about 3 to 5 minutes :-) all good now. Hope this might help someone.

I have the issue with the April 28 Android image. First time it was all fine and booted up. I had to reflash the image and after this it is not going past the allwinner powered by Android screen. I even left it for over 1 hour but no luck.... This is so inconsistent and frustrating.
