I also have a 4:3 VGA panel and therefore ordered the pine with a hdmi to vga adapter. But Now I found that it is not usable as 4:3 is not supported :-(

support 4:3 thru HDMi is tricky due to this is not a native configuration on HDMI format. To complicate this issue, we also need to check whether the HDMI to VGA converter able to handle. In short, we are not supporting now and still explore on the possibility, but the answer may be negative.

Any news on this topic?

tllim,

I would like to revive the issue discussed here. I am interested in putting pine board as a in-car pc and installing 16:9 screen will not look great there.
I really would like to have 4:3 and 16:10 ratio supported.

Please update us.

P.S. the last link to MegaSync does not work anymore.

I am also still interested.
As my pine is lying around in the corner since I received it. Next to the 4:3 monitor I wanted to use it with ;-)

Is there a way to use screen from a tablet?
Now Amazon kids tablet is sold at $35 and it has 1024x600 resolution.

Theoretically yes if the electrical interface fits (there are many ways to attach an LCD) and if you can adapt the connectors to the FFC connector. Then you need to have a driver for the display controller and the backlight, touchcontroller. One user has added a custom display to a SOPine, but it is something you have to implement.

Thank you xalius for the quick reply.

Where I can find a list of display, backlight and touchscreen drivers that are supported by armbian?
