Manjaro update: wxgtk dependency issue - Vinay - 09-06-2022

Hi there,

my PineBook Pro from spring 2020 runs Manjaro linux. Not sure which version, the command "ver" in a terminal doesn't tell me anything. Either way, I'm being prompted up update but when I do, I get this popup which tells me

"
could not satisfy dependencies:
- removing wxgtk-common breaks dependency 'wxgtk-common' required by wxgtk2
"

Everything else seems to work fine so far, but obviously I should run the update at some point. Any advice?

Thanks!
Vinay

Thank you for your response. Removing wxgtk2 as suggested in your link worked for me. And indeed I considered joining the Manjaro forum too for this if no one could help. Then again as these PineBooks were shipped with Manjaro anyway, it is good to have this advice on here too. Cheers!

I don't know about "ver" but I expect "uname -a" should tell you about your operating system. (Though I can't be certain that this actually works in Manjaru.

Yeah, uname -a indeed responds with "5.7.19-1-MANJARO-ARM #1 SMP Wed Sep 2 20:43:09 +03 2020 aarch64 GNU/Linux
". I think I learned about the ver command back in the days and it has worked for me since, running SuSE linux and OpenSuSE. Things differ between distributions apparently. I also learned "acpi -V" doesn't quite work as expected. It tells me my battery has 0% remaining even though the icon in the plasma bar (whatever it is called) tells me it is at 38% currently. I'll try to update my command line skills, but I won't pollute this thread any further. As it is now, I hope it can be a useful resource for those running into this same upgrade issue. Either way, thanks all for your help![/color]
