Try pressing the TAB button. I have found some apps will not let you focus on them.

It appears to be a known issue.

So far, Mobian is the best candidate - almost everything works to my satisfaction, except the missing .yaml files for my language... and the folder where they're supposed to be (as per instructions on Mobian's site) doesn't exist. And I don't speak enough  linux to just find them on my own.

More stuff to learn, then. Nice pastime for my retirement Smile

There should be all "officially supported" language files.
I think you need to make serbian yourself or find someones fork Smile

In an ideal world, the layout files for Ubuntu Touch should be available and compatible (there I got language right away, the first thing it asked at setup, that worked flawlessly, but no sound when I made a call, plus filling phonebook was spotty, sometimes it would save, sometimes not) and I'd just copy them over...

It's an imperfect world, I know.

I've had reliable calls pretty much since the beginning, which was a year ago, with one exception. If the phone dropped down to 2G and had to crank the transmitter up to maximum (happened whenever I was at work), then there was a lot of EMI that got into the microphone line causing a horrible noise for the person on the other end of the line (https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=13922). The issue seems to have gotten better though I suspect that is mainly due to improving 4G coverage near my workplace preventing the fallback to 2G at max power.

What is the status of being able to make reliable calls on the PP and PPpro?
By reliable I mean:
- Calls go through
- Calls are not disconnected for no reason
- Audio levels are fine (sending and receiving).
- Both parties can hear each other.
Thanks.

I've been using the Pinephone as my primary phone since February, except for a couple short periods where SMS/MMS glitches forced a retreat.  I did need to config the proximity sensor to be less sensitive before the phone experience became pretty pain-free.

- Calls go through:                         99%
- Calls are not disconnected for no reason       99%
- Audio levels are fine (sending and receiving).   I needed to increase the receive volume via /usr/share/alsa/ucm2/PinePhone/VoiceCall.conf
- Both parties can hear each other.            I've heard no complaints.

Edit 1: OS is Mobian, carrier is Verizon

Hello, new user here.

Could you please explain how you got calls and texts working? I just got data from Verizon on my original PP. It appears the call and text apps will no longer launch.
