Customized Sway on Pinephone - ragreenburg - 05-10-2022

This is running on a Pro but it should run just fine for Pinephone. Spent most of my weekend working on this, the dot files are in the comments of the post.

That looks great!  Thanks for sharing all the files involved.  Did you start from a barebones arch install or build on top of something like the plasma mobile arch image?

I like the idea of switching from sxmo to just plain ol' arch with sway but am uncertain about what all would need to be installed to get the phone components working.  Would love to hear some more details about where you started from with this.

Thanks! I've been doing some updates to make it more user friendly (see merge requests on the GitLab page). I started from Phosh and added Sway and gdm. Then I disabled Phosh and enable gdm so that way I could decide what to log in to. That way I didn't have to install everything from scratch. Also, there are a few things not on that GitLab page that are helpful. If you want to open an issue there about other files that would be helpful, I can get to that when I'm at my computer.

Plasma Mobile currently has an intermittent bug about not being able to answer the phone but I think when that gets addressed I'll do the same but with Plasma Mobile instead of Phosh just because I like their apps way more.

Compared to Phosh I've noted a fairly significant increase in my battery life in the Pro (maybe 20% better battery life), so that's nice as well.
