It just hangs there then retries a few times.

I replaced the u-boot with a working one I had and that got the device booting, that hung up but after replacing the dtb with the attached one, it successfully booted so I do have a working image now:

Armbian test version 20220913 kernel 6.0-rc5 and u-boot-2022.10-rc4. It is important that u-boot has changed. various bugs are possible in the new version.

This is the only image I've found that can boot from sd. Can you share your sources so I can modify/compile it?  Going on a month of just trying to boot a soquartz from sd here.

Your image linked on the soquartz wiki references quartz-64-a.dtb though it boot nicely via sd on a model a base board and a pi cm4 io board fwiw! Good work to the both of you ( and @balbes150 of course ) and thank you.
