Install Mali 400 Drivers for Debian 11 on RockPro64 - MaverickPi - 02-15-2022

As the subject says, trying to install video drivers (Mali 400) on my RockPro64.

I successfully installed Debian 11 64 bit to the emmc following the instructions on the wiki.

Any idea on how to get the Mali driver's working?  Googling seems to indicate these would be the utgard  kernel drivers.

Thanks for any help!

From what I can see you'll have to go the Panfrost/Lima drivers route.

The RockPro64 doesn't have a Mali 400 (Utgard) GPU, it has a Mali T860 (Midgard). I recommend installing the Debian packages for Mesa 20.3.5, which includes the Panfrost open-source driver that work pretty well to drive the GPU. The specific package names are libgl1-mesa-dri, libegl-mesa0 and libgbm1, though installing any OpenGL(ES)-using package will normally bring them in as dependencies.
