software - jesica - 10-21-2021

Hi all

I do see the new Pro phone chip is endorsed by the FSF

Will any of the arm based software also be endorsed that will be available for use?

regards

Hi, I'm not sure what software you mean. If you mean the operating system then it's just regular GNU/Linux with some modifications. One of the distros that work on PinePhone is Mobian, which is based on Debian. Debian is fully Free Software, but is not endorsed by the FSF.

ARM based software, because apparently we have the ability to materialize hardware chips in PHP.

It's not?
I wonder what they think about Fedora then, Fedora is well known for being on the very extreme side when it comes to free software, though seeing how most of the RPM based distro's recently bent over to the woke mobs and Richard Stallman being openly hostile towards the woke mobs (which I believe is a good thing), there might be either bias towards or against Fedora.

I think Fedora ships with proprietary blobs in the kernel, but I'm not entirely sure. On their website they list some of the reasons why they don't endorse most popular distros: https://www.gnu.org/distros/common-distros.html.
