and installed it to a new pine phone right out of the box to internal flash and i'm running into the exact same problem.
Cannot wake the device by pressing the button on the side singularly or holding it for 2-3 seconds. Once the screen fades out, you cant wake the device. Totally unusable.
Is there a fix for this? The link shown above appears to be broken and reference to that build looks like it wont build anymore?!

Switch update settings to release candidate channel, and update. Just be careful and not let the phone sleep while you do it...
And thank you for the tip. Like the OP, every OS I tried but UP worked just fine, but UP would not wake up. Now, I have a working PinePhone with UP!
