I wish I had the manufacturing knowledge to design something similar to that for the PinePhone
Another option would be to find an existing tough case like that, made for another model of phone, and modify it for the PinePhone.

I think that would be too messy. I just ordered a new screen (finally) and the soft case people seem to be regarding as better. Hopefully someone will come out with an armored case.

If I get the time and maybe some case nominations to copy I could make the required .stl files to 3D print cases, then you can even outsource to a 3D print shop.
For any good case it would require 2 pieces joined with screws as FDM (printer which CNC squirts hot plastic filament) doesn't do overhangs well.  there is also the option of gluing together TPU soft filament for an inner soft armor. Who knows, with a field tested and proven .stl model design we might get Pine64 to order a run of injection molded full strength cases

And maybe they can get with the game , and replace that soft glass with some harder glass.

Just yesterday , I accidentally knocked over a tablet onto a hard tile floor. By the very loud splatter sound it made, surely the glass was broken. But it was not.
