Feel like Pine may be the kodi of phones, like Tank said, very exciting time!
Google voice under Firefox works on MX-Linux on my x86 and ia64/amd64 laptops but it did not work for me on my Pinephone. I'd hoped to be able to use it or some kind of SIP service with Inland Cellular 4G data only (Inland is CDMA and has no VoLTE support so no voice service with Pine). My research on SIP indicated tough sailing on the Pine, if it's even possible to get working at all.

That endorsement by google certainly caused me concern, I was on Opera from vs12 until just this year and GV stopped working

If these (Pine phones) are just pocket PC's its strange you could not get GV working ....

Actually, that was my last and only smart phone, the PC6700 ice cream bar, I liked it but service was 100/month and not something I could justify for my needs

And demand your money back

I cannot find anything to suggest AT&T themselves is blocking any phones. I could understand Cricket at they are a low budget provider trying to make more money in other areas.

If it's not on this list, it's being kicked off. Lots of news/commentary about it all over AT&T forums, Reddit, DuckDuckGo....

I don't see that as a White List, but more of a compatibility list of older phones which will continue to function on AT&T.

Look at these two:

Lumia 950
Lumia 640XL

Those two are from 2015. The reason they will continue to function is because those support VoLTE. If they were really trying to blacklist phones, then I assure you  those seven year old Microsoft Windows phones surely would be blacklisted. I also looked in Reddit in r/pinephone. The newest post about AT&T is from over a year ago. That was due to ASN settings, not VoLTE

The PinePhone modem supports VoLTE. I will be giving it a test soon
