Keyboard Input Question - Lidesia - 07-30-2020

Hello, I apoligize if this was asked before, but I wanted to ask again since it is in reference to new hardware and software.

For the new Pinephone (Community Edition: PostmarketOS version)  will a standard keyboard work with a USB A to USB C converter? I just wanted to check before ordering the converter itself. I ordered the $150 version since it meets all my requirements otherwise. If not, it's no big deal and I'll get used to typing with onscreen keyboards.

In theory it should work, but might need manual intervention. In practice we'll have to wait and see - it was intended to work on brave heart too, but the hardware bug that's meant to be fixed in the PmOS community edition stopped that.

An alternative that does work (at least in Mobian) is a bluetooth keyboard. The only problem (which will probably apply with a USB keyboard too) is that it still pops up the on-screen keyboard - you can dismiss it, but it quickly gets annoying in some circumstances.

Thank you for the reply. I am just hoping for functional since the onscreen keyboard isn't too annoying for my on my current phone (I have been test running keyboards on a phone to get a feel for it), and it really is just a QoL thing since it wouldn't be needed just make using the CLI a little better.

Just wanted to pop in here to let y'all know that a standard hub and keyboard worked for me (until a recent mobian update, but honestly, not a big deal).
