Wonky networks, low volume, rc channel - Athansor - 06-28-2020

Love my UBports PinePhone, but it just needs two things to make it a daily driver for me:

1. Reliable data connection
2. better call volume

#1 is strange. It seems that it randomly forgets that it's connected to a cellular data network, or a wifi, or both. The icons remain unchanged, but apps proceed to tell me that there's no network available. Sometimes - though not always - a reboot will fix it. Sometimes - though not always - it figures it out on its own. It feels to me to be entirely random.

#2 seems pretty straightforward. Call volume is too weak to hear clearly. I've tried an app called uVolMan from the app store, it doesn't seem to make a difference. Any suggestions?

Would I be any better off by switching to the release candidate channel? I realize that breakage may ensue.

I'm not a dev or programmer. I'm basically a marginally intelligent idiot with Ubuntu, which I've been using for over a decade. I'd love any suggestions anyone might have. Thanks.
